6.1 Introduction
I decided to use path workings for my mental discipline requirement as I regard them as a very good technique to deepen my understanding of the ADF cosmology and the kindred. I also wanted to include the tree of life (world tree, cosmic tree), so important in my personal practice. The first step was putting together a plan of action and writing what needed to be written for it, then try it out, change it and begin with it. In addition to the DP, I used several sourcebooks for theory and ideas (Ashcroft-Nowicki, 1987, 1999; Earrach, 1995; Farrell, 2004). I integrate ideas from my previous magical work and mindfulness. The complete preparation took me nearly a whole month. I decided on four pathworkings: Creation, Underworld, Upperworld, and Middleworld. I had written a creation story, which I use as a pre-ritual when we meet for the High days, including many things from the one Earrach (1995) has written, but as well some ideas from R. J. Stewart (1989), and some of my own. I integrated those ideas into the creation pathworking. To keep my mind better focused I worked out seed sentences matching a certain pathwork, using one three days in a row. Due to word count maximum the pathworkings are not included in this essay. I performed the exercise daily, with Sunday (or Saturday) off as on that day I would do the Sundaymass.

[Addendum: In my DP I included experiences from the specific pathwork and some relevant journal excerpts, which I haven't put online. ]

6.2 The Creation Pathworking

6.2.1 The First Ritual
The First Beginning Ritual was done during the five weeks doing the creation pathwork (calendar week 2011 37 – 41). The creation pathwork was then integrated into a short version of the two powers exercise and the lightning of the candle was put at the beginning
1. Breathing
2. 9 Chimes on the meditation bowl
4. Chanting A – O – I to return to the beginning of creation (Stewart, 2003)
5. The creation pathwork
6. Lightning the candle and contemplating (the light signifies the star of Polaris as well as my own inner fire)
7. Extinguishing the light
8. Handclapping to disperse energies.

6.3. The pathworks of the tree realms:
6.3.1 The Ritual for the pathworks:
This is the ritual how it was done the rest of the time:
1. Breathing
2. 9 Chimes on the meditation bowl
3. Lighting the candle (it was done here, because I disliked getting in and out of trance to light a candle)
4. Chanting A – O – I
5. Connecting with creation, from Polaris, as the axis outside, the perception goes down than following the simple two powers from the DP section mental training connected to the text:
From the great Above (Star), to the great Below (Underworld) unite the powers in the middle (Upperworld and mingling) where the Sacred Tree stands: rooted in the primal waters and with it’s branches embracing the stars.
6. Concentrating on my spine as my inner axis, projecting this inner feeling into a picture outward, standing in my inner sacred grove, expected by the Opener between Fire and Well beneath a great tree. Offering present. He will then guide me and open up the gates like needed.
7. A) Being guided to the beginning of the Underworld: offering present, entering the underworld through the well.
7. B) Being guided to Upperworld: firebird flying up, offering present, entering.
7. C) Being guided through the Middleworld: offering present at the tree
8. Returning, thanking the opener, bidding good bye, bringing the tree without again within.
9. Extinguishing the light
10. Handclapping to disperse energies
